80's Keith Haring Satin Jacket

Keith Haring was a key figure in 1980s NYC street culture, bringing his bold, graffiti-style artwork from the subways to galleries and everywhere in between. One of his recognizable contributions was the “Heritage of Pride” graphic that he created for the Gay and Lesbian Pride Day invitations at NYC’s Palladium nightclub in 1986.

The design featured animated figures and gender symbols. This graphic became a perfect example of how Haring used his art to push for change and give visibility to communities.
